Belly up to the bar

The bar is open and you can test your inebriation level by seeing how many times the inlay pattern on the front changes its perspective. The bar front is made of tongue and groove cedar provided by the customer. The geometric pattern is outlined with inlaid strip of cypress. Several coats of danish oil completed the front. The cabinet in the background is red oak and custom designed around the mirror and the antique optic liquor dispenser.

The top was made from two slabs of three-inches thick black cherry and custom crown molding was cut from 1 * 6 cherry. The elbow rest and other edges were hand molded with scrapper, planes and sanding drums. A water_based dye provided a uniform colorant before multiple coats of Waterlox high gloss varnish.
