Simple Folding Table

This a simple table that does not require great woodworking skill and would be ideal for a begining woodworker to try. The design resulted from an afternoon on the deck and my wife complainted that she needed somewhere to place her drink. I knocked out the prototype that afternoon from scrap stock and a tile leftover from tiling the bathroom. Refining the construction and reverting to cypress with suitable outdoor varnish (marine teak oil) gives it outdoor durability[shown below]. Combining this finish with the folding design that allows you to collapse the table for storage made this table a real seller. Another customer requested white oak construction and provide an upgraded tile. The resulting tables are now used as plant stands in the family room.
